Kathleen Donohue was born in Burnley England where she graduated from secretarial college. She worked for several international organizations in London, Switzerland and eventually Austria, where she met her future husband and moved to Calgary to raise their 3 children.
Kathleen had a talent for seeing the funny side of life and, with some artistic license, regaled her friends with stories that made them laugh. Her friends used to say, “You tell such funny stories Kath, you should write a book”. She never forgot this.
A job in the Middle East moved the family to Arabia where Kathleen found herself with half grown kids and plenty of leisure time. She enrolled in a creative writing class and wrote 3 books about Mercy Meadows, an 11 year old “mini-me”. She also wrote a humorous weekly newspaper column on Raising Teens.
In 2022, Kathleen passed away from cancer leaving a rich collection of stories behind that she always wanted to share with others. Publishing these books is our way of honouring her wishes and her memory.
Enjoy.
